About Giámala
Fundación Giámala | San José is a non-profit organization that provides psychological, emotional, social, and educational support to young cancer patients who lack the necessary support network. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of these patients by offering comprehensive care and empowering them to overcome the challenges they face. The foundation is inspired by the vision of Giancarlo Malavasi Lachner (Giámala), who himself battled leukemia at a young age.
Witnessing the needs of young patients during his hospital stays, he shared this initiative with his mother and friends, planting the seed to create a home for young cancer patients. Today, their dream has become a reality, with a home for adolescents near the hospital, providing holistic care to over 300 patients. We are a dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to continue driving this project forward.
