Giants Rising

Giants Rising is a documentary film and outreach project dedicated to revealing the wonders, history, and significance of America’s redwood forests. The film explores the trees’ remarkable stories and the ecosystems they inhabit, bringing together science, cultural connections, and the awe inspired by these iconic forests. Its central message links the redwoods’ past and present with challenges that affect the future, including the role these forests may play in sustaining people and the natural world.

Audiences can watch Giants Rising through PBS, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Comcast, and the project also shares trailers and information about screening events. Beyond viewing the film, visitors can explore forest experiences, including visits to redwood parks, guided forest immersions, and cultural journeys. The site offers tree stories and resources for educators, while its action initiatives encourage forest restoration, stronger cultural connections, and support for redwood parks. A newsletter provides occasional updates about the film and the redwoods. Together, these offerings invite viewers to learn about, experience, and help care for these forests.
