GICAT is a French professional association founded in 1978, representing industries focused on land and aerospace-related defense and security. It brings together more than 500 members, including large corporations, mid-sized companies, small and medium-sized businesses, and start-ups; 80% of its members are SMEs. Their work spans industry, research, services, and consulting for military and civilian stakeholders in France and internationally. GICAT supports this diverse network and promotes innovation and French sovereignty across the defense and security ecosystem.

The association connects members with public officials, military and security leaders, policymakers, industry decision-makers, and other stakeholders. It organizes around 50 events each year in France and abroad, including professional dinners, breakfasts, and discussion forums focused on defense, security, and strategic outlooks. GICAT also provides an online member directory, shares news from the association and its members, and makes capability brochures and other publications available. Through these activities, it offers a platform for dialogue, visibility, and collaboration across the sector.
