About Gidget Foundation
Gidget Foundation, located in North Sydney NSW, aims to provide support and resources for expectant and new parents during the perinatal period, which encompasses pregnancy and the first year of parenthood. Understanding the unique challenges faced during this time, the foundation recognizes the societal underestimation of the adjustment to parenthood. They offer a range of products and services to assist parents experiencing perinatal depression or anxiety.
With a focus on emotional wellbeing, Gidget Foundation offers various support options such as the Emotional Wellbeing Screening Program and face-to-face or telehealth services at Gidget House. They also provide a virtual village, known as Gidget Village, and a collection of Bunny Books that can assist in navigating the perinatal period. The foundation extends their support to fathers and partners as well, acknowledging that perinatal depression can affect them too.
Gidget Foundation also offers workplace programs, resources, and a podcast to help raise awareness and educate about perinatal mental health. Please note that Gidget Foundation does not offer crisis support but provides important contact information for urgent medical help, the PANDA National Helpline, and Lifeline's 24-hour crisis support
