Initially serving as a repository for GigaScience articles, GigaDB now welcomes datasets from a wide range of sources, provided they meet submission criteria that foster data integrity and accessibility.

Each dataset consists of related files—such as sequencing data, analyses, and imaging—accompanied by a title, author list, and a detailed abstract. Through its partnership with DataCite, GigaDB assigns DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) to promote easy citation and academic engagement. Committed to maximizing utility for the research community, all datasets are accessible under a CC0 waiver, encouraging collaboration and innovation.
