The Gill Montague Council on Aging supports older adults in the community through referral, outreach, nutrition, health, education, and recreation services. Working with town departments and area agencies, it also sets policy for the Senior Center and offers programs intended to enhance seniors’ quality of life. Services include information and referrals, benefits counseling, fitness classes, afternoon activities, and weekly drop-in technology support.

Older adults can also access a public computer, free Wi-Fi, document copying and shredding, a book swap, and exchanges for puzzles and magazines. Nutrition offerings include the Western Mass Food Bank Brown Bag Program, monthly free food distributions, potluck lunches, and pizza parties. Additional support includes monthly foot clinics with nurses, small home repair grants, veterans’ agent hours, seasonal tax assistance, and help applying for fuel assistance.

The council’s calendar features activities such as aerobics, chair exercise, chair yoga, quilling, and community lunches. It also shares news and information about local initiatives, including cooling centers, home lock boxes, and age-friendly programs
