Ginkgo Occupational Therapy

Ginkgo Occupational Therapy is a Melbourne/Naarm-based practice owned by Naomi Buckeridge, an occupational therapist with more than 11 years of experience. Since graduating from Curtin University in 2012, Naomi has worked in mental health and paediatric settings. The practice supports children, including autistic children, children with ADHD or PDA, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays.

Ginkgo OT takes a collaborative, empowering approach, recognising caregivers as experts in their children’s lives. Caregivers are encouraged to participate in sessions, and the practice aims to offer practical strategies that can fit into everyday family routines. Therapy is shaped in collaboration with others involved in a child’s life, with a focus on functional goals, individual strengths, and a safe, accommodating environment. Rather than seeking to change a child, Ginkgo OT emphasises providing accommodations and building skills to support their goals. Sessions are intended to be enjoyable and responsive to children’s needs. The practice values neurodiversity-affirming care and draws on resources and training developed by the neurodivergent community.
