GirbauMateu

GirbauMateu is a Barcelona-based architecture and interior design studio led by architect Neus Mateu and doctor of architecture Quim Girbau. The studio creates distinctive, functional and efficient spaces for businesses and individuals, grounding each project in a considered understanding of the brand, its users and its setting. Its work spans commercial interiors, residential buildings and workplace design.

For retail and hospitality clients, GirbauMateu designs spaces that express brand identity and enrich the customer experience, including projects for restaurants, food shops, hotels and retailers. Its portfolio includes work associated with brands such as UDON, Roman Pizza, Escribà, Ametller Origen, Kettal and El Corte Inglés. The studio also develops single-family and multi-family homes, prioritising sustainable materials, passive energy strategies, natural light and thermal comfort. For offices, it creates welcoming, flexible environments that support wellbeing, productivity and collaboration, with projects for private companies and public institutions.

Across its services, GirbauMateu combines architecture, interior design, sustainability and practical planning to shape places that feel engaging, serve their users and reflect the identities of the organisations and people who inhabit them.
