Girls-SK8

Girls-SK8 is a nonprofit organization that makes skateboarding more accessible to girls and women through welcoming, community-focused meet-ups in Florida. Its activities serve participants of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, from children stepping onto a board for the first time to experienced adult skaters looking to build skills and confidence. The organization also welcomes LGBTQ and nonbinary participants and encourages skaters to connect, learn from one another, and make friends.

Girls-SK8 hosts monthly meet-ups at the Skatepark of Tampa and promotes events in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota. Typical activities include free skateboarding lessons, warm-ups, social time, complimentary lunch, skate games and contests, and open skating. The events are free to attend and are designed for both beginners and more experienced skaters. Girls-SK8 also shares information about upcoming meet-ups through its mailing list and invites organizers to submit girls’ skateboarding events or lessons for its calendar. To support its monthly programming, the nonprofit offers flexible sponsorship opportunities for businesses and corporations.
