About Girls Empowered
Girls Empowered By Travel is a non-profit organization that provides safe opportunities for women to travel and get involved in community work in a welcoming and secure environment. Their mission is to promote leadership among women and youth, creating a positive impact on their families and communities. With a focus on sustainable tourism, GET offers various projects and initiatives, including the Hitaishi: Rural-Urban Intercultural Exchange Project and the Outdoers program, empowering young girls to lead their own outdoor adventures.
They have connected over 500 youth girls and established partnerships with homestays across 13 districts, reaching rural communities. GET also organizes events such as the Paanch Pokhari trek and the Girl Travel Circle, fostering sisterhood among women travelers and supporting economic independence through education on running travel-related businesses.
