The Apiary Sanctuary Foundation

The Apiary Sanctuary Foundation is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit developing technology-enhanced sober living residences for people facing housing challenges. Based in Orlando, its initial focus is Central Florida, with plans to expand into Southeast and Northeast Florida. The foundation serves foster adults, displaced women, and retired veterans through safe, shared housing in residential neighborhoods, offering a supportive setting to rebuild independence and pursue recovery.

Its housing model combines hands-on staff support with technology, including automated drug testing, to help promote security and accountability. Guided by the values of security, empowerment, and growth, the organization aims to foster respect, mutual support, and collaborative progress among residents. Its name reflects this approach: like an apiary, the community is intended to help people contribute their strengths and grow together; like a sanctuary, it offers refuge and a place to recover.

The foundation is currently in development, pursuing certification with the Florida Association of Recovery Residences and aligning its program with Level II Medically Assisted Treatment recovery home standards.
