The Sir Graeme J. Davies Scholarship Charity honours the legacy of Professor Sir Graeme J. Davies, a distinguished higher education leader who helped establish British University Vietnam (BUV) and served as its Chairman, President and Chancellor. Established by his family, the UK-registered charity supports his commitment to widening access to higher education by providing scholarships for talented young people studying at BUV in Hanoi.
The charity’s scholarships are intended to help deserving students pursue high-quality British-standard education in Vietnam. Its initial focus is on applicants to BUV’s University of London International Foundation Programme, which develops the academic knowledge and learning skills needed for entry to undergraduate study and adaptation to international university environments. In 2023, the charity planned to award a scholarship to an outstanding candidate from high schools across Vietnam.
Through donations and community support, the charity seeks to create educational opportunities and carry forward Sir Graeme’s contribution to students and higher education. Its work also commemorates his connection to BUV, where a memorial theatre was unveiled in 2023.
