Grünauer Kanuverein 1990 e.V. is a Berlin-based canoe sports club founded in 1990. Located in Grünau beside the historic 1936 Olympic regatta course, the club offers a setting well suited to training and enjoying water sports. It describes itself as one of Berlin’s most successful canoe racing clubs and welcomes both young people and adults who are interested in taking up the sport.
The club considers ages eight or nine a suitable starting point for children, with spring a convenient time to begin because water training can start soon after. However, newcomers may join at other times of the year as well. Canoes and paddles are provided by the club, so prospective participants need only bring enthusiasm for water sports and a positive attitude. Interested individuals can contact the club to arrange a trial training session.
Based at Regattastraße 231 in Berlin-Grünau, the club also shares information about its trainers, training times, equipment, news, sponsors, and travel directions. It is accessible from Grünau station by tram and a short walk.
