GLADSTONE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Gladstone Historical Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to researching, documenting, preserving, and sharing the history and heritage of Gladstone, Oregon, and the surrounding area. Established in 1978, it serves as the city’s official historical repository and research facility, supporting public access to local history and working to raise funds for a museum.

The society holds free, public monthly meetings featuring organizational updates and historically themed programs, presentations, and guest speakers. It also organizes activities throughout the year and takes part in Gladstone’s summer festival, where members share local history and answer community questions. Since 1992, the organization has published books and calendars featuring stories and photographs about Gladstone. Its website offers historical resources, including a free walking-tour guide to Old Town Gladstone, and provides information about events and membership. The society also operates a store selling historical items, such as a commemorative 1776–2026 ceramic mug celebrating the United States and Gladstone’s Powwow Tree. Community donations help support its preservation work and future museum.
