Glasgow Fencing

Glasgow West End Fencing Club (GWEFC) is a welcoming fencing club in Glasgow, offering Olympic-style sword fencing to people aged 13 and over. Its sessions are open to everyone, from complete beginners curious about trying the sport to experienced fencers looking to continue their training. The club meets every Thursday throughout the year, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at The ARC, Glasgow Caledonian University, on Cowcaddens Road.

GWEFC provides an opportunity to practise fencing as a sport and martial art, developing speed, wits and strength through sword-based competition and training. The first session is free; afterward, fees are £9 for adults and £7 for concessions. The club also shares news, event information, competition results, fencing facts and guidance for people starting out. Its members take part in competitions and regional events, including the Scottish Open and the Winton Cup. Prospective members can find practical details about sessions, costs and directions on the club’s website, or contact its listed club representatives for further information.
