GLBOC

The Great Lakes Basketball Officials Consortium (GLBOC) supports basketball officials across the Great Lakes region through year-round training, mentorship, recruitment, and community programs. Its goal is to help members improve in ways that match their officiating ambitions, from youth leagues to high school and college assignments. Training includes on-court instruction, video breakdowns, film study, and guidance from experienced officials, including speakers and instructors with MHSAA State Finals and NCAA Division II, Division III, and junior college experience.

GLBOC offers a mentor-and-mentee program for new and developing officials, helping participants build confidence, understand rules and mechanics, and navigate challenges involving coaches, players, and crew dynamics. The organization also recruits people interested in officiating and provides onboarding resources, ongoing support, and information about available assistance with registration and equipment costs. Its membership is listed at $30 for the 2026–2027 basketball season, with a fee waiver for new officials described on the site.
