About Glencoe Mountain Resort
The park is designed to provide a safe and controlled environment for individuals to practice using their avalanche transceivers, probes, and shovels. Established in 2011, the Transceiver Park at Glencoe Mountain Resort has become a vital resource for mountaineers and winter sports enthusiasts. It was developed in collaboration with Anatom Ltd, Glencoe Ski Patrol, and the Scottish Mountain Safety Group, ensuring the highest level of safety and expertise.
In 2015, the park underwent significant improvements by transitioning to wireless beacons, thanks to the generous support and contributions from the public. This upgrade has enhanced the training experience, allowing users to become more proficient in locating casualties faster in real-life emergencies. By practicing at the Transceiver Park, visitors can familiarize themselves with the equipment and build confidence in their skills, ultimately saving lives in potential avalanche situations.
