Glenlyon District Pony Club

Glenlyon & District Pony Club is a community-focused pony club based at the Glenlyon Recreation Reserve, where it brings riders and families together through horsemanship, learning and shared experiences. The club holds monthly rallies on the third Sunday, offering members access to talented instructors who support riders’ development and enjoyment. New members are welcome, and prospective families can book a Come and Try session to experience pony club before deciding whether to join. Sessions require advance booking, registration through the JustGo platform and a fee.

The reserve features two large sand arenas, a grass oval, a working track, a show-jumping area and an undulating cross-country course. The club also hosts an annual state-qualifying horse trials, with pony club and open classes, and takes part in community events including show jumping at the Daylesford Show and Glenlyon New Year’s Sporting Day. These activities help raise funds for community initiatives, education, resources and facility improvements. Ground bookings are also available.
