Gli Amici di Andrea

Gli Amici di Andrea ODV is a volunteer association based in Pesaro, Italy, dedicated to supporting people with acquired severe brain injuries, including those in vegetative states or states of minimal consciousness, and the families who care for them. Its work promotes access to rehabilitation, assistance and ongoing support, with the aim of helping each person pursue a better quality of life. The association also believes families should remain active participants in care and in planning for the future, rather than being left to face sudden illness alone.

To provide practical help and raise awareness, Gli Amici di Andrea organizes community events and fundraising activities, including burraco tournaments, walks, shows and other gatherings. These initiatives bring people together while generating support for families and encouraging greater understanding of the challenges they face. The association welcomes donations, volunteers and contributions through Italy’s 5x1000 tax allocation. Its book, La malattia che cura, recounts the organization’s beginnings and the continuing commitment of volunteers to care, listening and service.
