Gli Amici di Nemo ODV-ETS is a nonprofit organization founded in 2008 by families, parents and friends of people with disabilities. Based in Arzachena, Sardinia, it works to promote inclusion in education, sport, music, employment and community life, and to make local services and public spaces more accessible. The organization has advocated for practical improvements such as accessible pavements and beach walkways, while providing equipment to residents and visitors who need it.
Depending on availability, this includes crutches, wheelchairs, pressure-relief beds, hoists for people who are bedridden and Job beach chairs. It also helps people with disabilities navigate administrative procedures. For residents of the Municipality of Arzachena, the association can arrange transport for people who are ill to major healthcare centres across the island for treatments, appointments and medical tests, using vehicles with lifts.
Its principal initiatives include the Spiaggia Amica accessible beach project and a disability-friendly inflatable boat, intended to help overcome barriers to enjoying the sea
