About GLIDE
GLIDE, based in San Francisco, has been serving the people of the Tenderloin and the city since 1963. As a nationally recognized center for social justice, GLIDE is committed to fighting systemic injustices and transforming lives by offering compassionate, sustained, and comprehensive care to all in need. Through their integrated services and advocacy initiatives, GLIDE empowers individuals, families, and children to achieve stability and thrive.
The range of services provided by GLIDE is extensive. They offer a Daily Free Meals program, Family, Youth, and Childcare Center, Harm Reduction services, Men In Progress program, Unconditional Legal Clinic, Walk-In Center, Women’s Center, and support during the COVID-19 pandemic. GLIDE Memorial Church also holds Sunday Celebrations and offers Minister of Celebration services.
GLIDE has a strong community presence and is actively involved in addressing pressing social issues such as poverty, housing and homelessness, and racial and social justice. With over 515,800 meals served each year, more than 92,000 volunteer hours, and a commitment to creating positive change, GLIDE truly embodies love in action.
