The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty is an international initiative that brings together governments, organizations, and knowledge institutions to accelerate action on Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2: ending poverty and hunger. It promotes country-led programs, collective action, and stronger alignment of national and international support, including financial resources, technical expertise, and shared knowledge. Its work focuses on evidence-based policies designed to reach people most affected by poverty and hunger, reduce inequality, and strengthen sustainable development partnerships.

At the heart of the Alliance is the Policy Basket, a curated collection of 50 policy instruments across seven categories. Members can adapt these approaches to local needs and request financial, technical, or knowledge support for implementation. The Alliance also facilitates technical assistance, project development, follow-up, capacity building, and knowledge exchange. Its 2030 Sprints seek to scale proven interventions in areas including cash transfers, school meals, socioeconomic inclusion, maternal and early childhood support, smallholder farming, and water access.
