Global Animal Law (GAL) is a leading organization in global law on animals. As an independent and worldwide authority, GAL pioneers the health and protection of animals through the law. Our mission is to be at the forefront of promoting the well-being of animals globally.

At GAL, we believe in the concept of One Health/One Welfare, recognizing that the health of humans and animals are intertwined, and the world benefits when both species coexist harmoniously. We focus on implementing practical and sustainable measures to advance our agenda for animal welfare. Working in collaboration with national and international institutions, GAL assists legislators in developing key measures to enhance the legal protection and welfare of all categories of animals, including companion, farm, lab, sport/entertainment, and wild animals.

Our work is based on four pillars: Prevention, Legislation, Enforcement, and Education. One of our notable achievements is the GAL Database, the only comprehensive and continuously updated resource of animal welfare legislation globally. We also offer the GAL Matrix, GAL UNCAHP, GAL Friendly Index, and GAL Animal Guide.

To further support our mission, GAL has a dedicated team of experts and a patronage committee comprised of interdisciplinary members. We also encourage animal protection lawyers, professionals, students, and professors to join our international expert group.
