The Global Carbon Atlas is an online platform dedicated to exploring, visualizing, and interpreting regional and global carbon data related to human activities and natural processes. This initiative, led by the Global Carbon Project, relies on contributions from numerous research institutes and individual scientists worldwide to provide observations, models, and analyses.
The Atlas comprises three main components tailored to different users: OUTREACH offers an educational tool showcasing the relationship between carbon emissions and societal development, EMISSIONS allows users to explore, visualize, and download data on carbon dioxide emissions from various sources, and RESEARCH provides tools to create global and regional carbon flow maps and time series.
This collaborative effort, launched in 2013, constantly updates existing datasets and adds new information to enhance understanding of carbon cycles globally and regionally. Users are encouraged to provide feedback via email or social media to help improve and expand the Atlas further.
