About ICCPR
The International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (ICCPR) is a global organization committed to promoting cardiovascular disease prevention and cardiac rehabilitation. Established in 2010, ICCPR brings together various associations dedicated to this cause, with named board members from each association serving on the council. ICCPR is an associate international member of the World Heart Federation.
The ICCPR has set forth two key goals. Firstly, it aims to make cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation an obligatory service rather than an optional one. Secondly, it endeavors to support countries of both low-to-middle and high income to establish and enhance programs tailored to their specific needs.
By doing so, ICCPR aims to ensure broader access to these proven services. On their website, you can find links to international programs and initiatives, as well as updates on ongoing endeavors conducted by ICCPR. The organization is driven by a partnership with international organizations and is dedicated to maintaining and growing this consortium.
This includes considering and communicating ongoing consensus on evidence-based standards for cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation. Funding for ICCPR's website originally came from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, in support of Dr. Darren Warburton, Dr.
Shannon Bredin, Dr. Sherry Grace, and their collaborators. For more information, you can connect with ICCPR's Executive Committee or contact them via email at globalcardiacrehab@gmail.
