About GECS
GECS, Global Emergency Care Skills, is an Irish voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality emergency care training to healthcare professionals in developing healthcare systems. Founded in 2008 by Dr. Jean O'Sullivan, a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, GECS focuses on reducing morbidity and mortality by offering skills and simulation-based courses in trauma care, resuscitation skills, and major incident management.
Since its inception, GECS has conducted multiple courses in Africa, training over 500 doctors, nurses, and clinical officers. Partnering with prestigious medical institutions, GECS delivers tailored training based on local epidemiological patterns and healthcare resources. The organization's curriculum, developed by Irish Emergency Medicine experts, caters to both adult and pediatric patients.
