About Concern Worldwide
The Global Hunger Index (GHI) is a peer-reviewed annual report, a joint effort of Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe, aimed at comprehensively measuring and tracking hunger globally, regionally, and at the country level. The GHI serves as a tool to prompt actions to alleviate hunger worldwide. Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organization working with the poorest communities to combat poverty and suffering.
On the other hand, Welthungerhilfe, founded in 1962, is one of Germany's largest private aid organizations, operating independently of political and religious affiliations. The GHI highlights that while some progress has been made in reducing hunger in certain countries, global hunger levels have remained serious or alarming in 43 nations since 2015. The report emphasizes the pivotal role of youth in shaping food systems and calls for meaningful youth engagement to achieve Zero Hunger and ensure generational justice.
