GPCA, formerly known as the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA), operates as a membership organization focused on connecting and influencing key market participants. Their members include various types of private capital investors, such as private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and sovereign wealth funds. GPCA's mission is to drive investment returns and address societal needs by promoting sectors, strategies, and deals that benefit both investors and the wider community.
Headquartered in New York and Singapore, GPCA also includes LAVCA, the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America, which operates separately with its own team and board. The association is supported by a group of dedicated professionals, including a board of directors, leadership councils, and a management team.
