About Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect
GCR2P, or the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, is a prominent non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing the implementation of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) worldwide. With a commitment to ending mass atrocities, GCR2P aims to transform R2P into a practical guide for action. The organization actively engages in advocacy at the United Nations, hosts events, and fosters global engagement to promote R2P.
It also operates a global network of R2P focal points, striving to improve peacekeeping efforts and civilian protection. GCR2P produces informative publications, including a podcast featuring expert voices on atrocity prevention and resources that shed light on R2P. Through their work, GCR2P focuses on protecting populations at risk, including those in countries such as Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen, among others.
They also provide crisis monitoring and highlight situations where populations face imminent risk. By subscribing to their mailing list, followers can receive updates on mass atrocity prevention and the invaluable work done by the Global Centre. Together, we can uphold our shared responsibility to prevent and protect one another from violence
