The Global Raptor Impact Network (GRIN) is a collaborative initiative coordinated by The Peregrine Fund and managed by Habitat Info. Built by expanding the African Raptor DataBank and combining it with The Peregrine Fund’s Global Raptor Information Network, GRIN supports monitoring and conservation of raptors worldwide. Its database contains more than 200,000 raptor-sighting records, contributed by researchers, bird-watchers, and bird-atlassing projects.
The network accepts diverse observation types, including road and foot-transect counts, static counts, satellite tracks, mortality incidents, and museum records. GRIN provides tools that help raptor researchers conduct studies while contributing data to a global monitoring effort, supporting the identification of population trends, threats, and conservation needs. Its free mobile app is available for Android and iOS and enables professional and citizen scientists to record sightings, nest productivity, mortality, resightings, and museum specimens.
GRIN also works with partners around the world to pool information and features artwork from contributing artists
