The Global Vaccine Data Network® (GVDN™) is the world's largest collaborative platform for real-world vaccine safety and effectiveness science. The network spans over 30 low, middle, and high-income countries and hundreds of millions of people. Our mission is to detect, understand, and mitigate adverse events related to vaccines—quickly, transparently, and globally. As disinformation spreads and trust erodes, our work has never been more critical. We believe the world needs a permanent, agile vaccine safety infrastructure—ready for the next pandemic. GVDN is leading that effort. About Global Vaccine Data Network
The Global Vaccine Data Network™ (GVDN®) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to advancing vaccine safety and effectiveness studies through comprehensive health data analysis. Collaborating with experts in global health, non-profit organizations, and vaccine safety specialists, GVDN® addresses critical gaps in vaccine monitoring and evaluation. Their mission includes thoroughly assessing vaccine safety concerns and effectiveness to inform risk-benefit analyses and tackle issues such as vaccine hesitancy.
GVDN® leverages large clinical databases for retrospective analyses and aims to strengthen the data capabilities of countries with less developed infrastructures. By establishing standardized protocols for data sharing, GVDN® facilitates swift scientific output and robust evidence, enhancing the understanding of vaccine outcomes globally. Their efforts extend to individualized studies examining variability in vaccine response, supported by a strong Scientific Advisory Committee from around the world.
Headquartered at the University of Auckland's Global Coordinating Centre, GVDN® is committed to promoting vaccine safety and improving public health through rigorous research and collaboration.
