GLSK

Göteborgs Långfärdsskridskoklubb (GLSK) is a club serving long-distance ice skaters in the Gothenburg area of western Sweden. It works to help skaters enjoy rewarding experiences on the region’s varied lake ice and, when conditions allow, on sea ice, with an emphasis on safe skating. During the season, GLSK arranges leader-guided outings whenever conditions provide an opportunity, offering tours of varying levels of difficulty.

Members can access current ice observations from across Sweden, along with suggestions for suitable skating areas, helping them make informed choices about where to skate. The club also provides member education, including introductory sessions, skating technique training, ice knowledge, and exercises for practicing what to do after falling through the ice. Prospective members can register online and gain access to the club’s member pages and ice information.

Participation in club outings requires first attending a welcome meeting. GLSK’s website also shares information about membership, safety, events, skating routes, and plowed or artificially frozen skating tracks
