About Centre For Social Change
Governance Monitoring Centre Nepal (GMC Nepal) is a collaborative project between the Centre for Social Change, a Kathmandu-based NGO, and funding partner The Asia Foundation. The goal of GMC Nepal is to foster state-society relationships in Nepal by creating an enabling environment for citizen-government engagement. Despite recent political and structural changes, experts believe that Nepal still faces limitations in this area.
GMC Nepal aims to address this by conducting rigorous policy and implementation analyses using advanced qualitative and quantitative methods. In its first year, GMC Nepal is focusing on three key areas of governance: Health, Education, and Migration. These areas are crucial for effective governance and are directly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
GMC Nepal actively communicates its findings through various channels, including reports, infographics, policy briefs, media partnerships, and social media. The project is driven by the commitment to involve the community with transparency, fostering strong state-society relationships and effective public participation. GMC Nepal welcomes collaboration and encourages engagement with the government to enhance service delivery and citizen engagement.
