Galway Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) is a dedicated and voluntary organization providing 24/7 emergency response services to the upland and remote areas of counties Galway and Clare in Ireland. As a registered charity, Galway MRT has over 30 active volunteer members with diverse backgrounds and skills. These dedicated individuals range in age from 24 to 66 and come from various professions including farming, engineering, and teaching.

They all share a common goal - helping others in need. Galway MRT's team membership extends from Letterfrack in North-West Connemara to the Burren in County Clare, covering a wide area of operations. Their skill-set focuses on offering emergency response services such as casualty care, rope rescue, search management, and search & rescue (SAR) operations.

In addition to working closely with local ambulance services, Galway MRT cooperates with other mountain rescue teams both in Ireland and abroad. They also have a close working relationship with the Irish Air Corps, National Parks & Wildlife Service, An Garda Síochána (Irish police force), Irish Coast Guard, Civil Defence, and Coillte Ireland. At Galway MRT, the desire to help others is at the core of what they do, and they greatly appreciate the support and sacrifices of their members' families, friends, and employers, which enable them to provide an effective emergency response service
