MemorialCare Independent Physicians (MCIP), formerly Greater Newport Physicians, is an independent physician organization serving communities across south Los Angeles and central and south Orange County. The change is a name and branding update; the provider group, doctors, locations, and continuity of care remain the same. For more than four decades, the organization has connected patients with personalized primary and specialty care and has grown well beyond its original Newport Beach area.

Patients can choose from more than 150 primary care doctors and 1,100 specialists. The online provider search helps users find clinicians by name, specialty, location, hospital network, or language. MCIP offers access to 24/7 virtual urgent care, leading specialists, and nationally recognized hospitals. It contracts with many major health plans and accepts most major HMO plans, while coverage for Medicare, indemnity, supplemental, PPO, and EPO plans varies by physician and practice.

The organization also assists with questions about medical group services, authorization status, and referrals through its 24/7 Navigation Center, with interpreter services available.
