Gauteng North Wrestling is the regional wrestling association serving the Gauteng North community in South Africa. Affiliated with the South African Wrestling Federation, which is connected to SASCOC, the African wrestling body CALA, and United World Wrestling, the association supports participation in the sport from beginner level through senior and masters competition. Its age groups include young children, school-age wrestlers, cadets, juniors, adults, and masters aged 35 to 60.

The association promotes both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Freestyle allows leg attacks and is practiced in the women’s division, while Greco-Roman competition for males aged 13 and older prohibits holds below the waist and emphasizes throws, balance, and hand techniques. Gauteng North Wrestling helps people get involved through wrestling clubs, professional coaching, community activities, and competitive events, including the GNW Youth and Presidents Championships and the Big 5 Open. Parents can also contribute through coaching, team management, administration, and refereeing. Alongside athletic development, the organization highlights wrestling’s benefits for discipline, perseverance, mental toughness, and emotional regulation.
