The U. S. Army Reserve offers part-time military service for people who want to serve their country while continuing a civilian career or education.
Soldiers can train close to home, stay connected to family and community, and develop skills that may support their professional goals. The Reserve offers enlisted and commissioned officer paths, with roles ranging from carrying out essential missions to leading and training teams. Members receive pay for part-time service and may qualify for benefits including education and training support, health care, home loans, family benefits, and veteran programs.
Service generally includes at least one weekend of duty each month and two weeks of training each year, alongside initial training and any job-specific preparation. Army Reserve Soldiers may be called to active duty when needed and can support the Army during crises or emergencies. The organization also provides career information, joining guidance, a Soldier Prep Quiz, and opportunities to learn from serving members
