Goat Expo

Goat Expo is a multi-day livestock event held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri. Now in its ninth year, the event brings together youth exhibitors, families, breeders, producers, educators, and industry professionals to learn, compete, and connect. Its program combines goat shows and practical education in a welcoming, family-friendly setting.

Offerings include youth camps for Market, Dairy, and Fiber goats, with hands-on showmanship training, fitting and selection clinics, mentorship, and leadership development. Participants can also take part in Boer goat competitions, specialty shows, and the Skill-A-Thon, a knowledge-based livestock contest. Educational activities include industry-led clinics and university-supported programming, such as Lincoln University’s Master Class and Value Added Day. Vendors and industry partners provide a marketplace for products, services, and learning, while the Midwest Buck Sale offers a regional marketing opportunity for breeders.

Goat Expo serves young exhibitors ages 4 to 19, competitive breeders, families developing livestock programs, and producers seeking to improve genetics. The event also promotes community involvement, knowledge-sharing, and connections across the goat industry.
