It helps visitors find public-sector organizations by searching for a name or topic, selecting a government area, and narrowing results by category and location. The listed categories include public administration, economic development, social development, justice and security, the environment, legislative bodies, foreign relations, and international organizations. Users can choose among Mexico’s states and Mexico City, apply distance filters, or explore popular categories and listings.

Directory entries may include an office’s location, telephone number, email address, and category, as shown in examples such as electoral, legal, and educational offices. The platform also provides access to state listings, a complete directory, contact information, and its privacy notice and terms and conditions. gobimex describes itself as a search resource rather than an official government service; its listings are presented to help users navigate information about public offices, not as confirmation that the site is operated by or affiliated with those agencies
