Histoires d’Art continues the creative jewellery tradition of Lyon’s Maison Goineau, whose history dates back to the 19th century. The Goineau Art Roman collection was created in 1991 by Gilles Goineau with jeweller-designer Vincent Gourlat and client adviser Gisèle Mollard. After the original house closed in 2008, Mollard and Gourlat took over its workshops and established a new boutique-workshop, carrying forward its commitment to French artisanal craftsmanship.
The brand creates jewellery and objects inspired by Romanesque architecture and medieval sculpture, carefully sculpted and engraved to echo historic motifs. Its collections include limited-edition Romanesque designs, pieces inspired by Lyon’s architectural heritage, jewellery from other historical periods, and contemporary creations. Products range from rings, wedding bands, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, earrings and medals to objets such as bookmarks, magnifiers, letter openers and collectible thimbles. Materials and designs include silver, 18-carat gold and gemstones. Histoires d’Art also offers one-of-a-kind pieces, including historically inspired jewellery and contemporary fine jewellery. Its creations are available through its boutique and selected museum shops and arts-and-crafts specialists.
