Goldea

Goldea is a French artisan gilding brand founded by Charlotte Bernado in 2019 and based in Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the Basque coast. After discovering gilding at a craft fair, Charlotte trained in the art and spent ten years developing her expertise in Paris before returning to the southwest of France to create a more original, contemporary approach to gold leaf. The name Goldea combines “gold” and “sea,” reflecting the brand’s coastal roots.

The studio creates distinctive pieces using 24-carat gold leaf, with custom compositions that can combine yellow, rose, and white gold. Its work includes made-to-order creations, artistic collaborations, and individual projects, such as gold-leafed golf balls and helmets. Goldea welcomes clients with ideas for bespoke commissions and invites them to discuss their projects or request a quote. The brand also presents its creations through an online gallery and offers a shop, alongside information about its craft and services. Through its artisanal practice, Goldea brings traditional gilding techniques into contemporary designs.
