Golden Algarve, also known as Golden Race Algarve, is an international pigeon-racing event organized in Monte Gordo, in Portugal’s Algarve region. It invites participants to enter pigeons in a series of races and hotspots, building toward a major final from Bragança, 505 kilometres away. The organization publishes race calendars, regulations, entry forms, results, and prize information, including rankings and ace-pigeon standings. It also provides live streaming of races, along with photos, videos, news, and visitor information.

The event offers a substantial prize pool, advertised at approximately €1.1 million, and coordinates pigeon registration, activation, race preparation, transport, and release. Participants can follow updates on race schedules, weather-related decisions, basketing, and pigeon recovery. Certain unpaid or reserve pigeons may be activated for the final, subject to availability, confirmation, and payment; activated owners are eligible for the associated prizes and a share of the pigeon’s auction proceeds. Golden Algarve also organizes a gala dinner and prize delivery, bringing together competitors and pigeon-racing teams from multiple countries.
