Goldwell Open Air Museum is dedicated to preserving, presenting, and encouraging artistic exploration in the breathtaking Amargosa Desert. Located near the ghost town of Rhyolite, this 15-acre outdoor sculpture park showcases an eclectic mix of thought-provoking artworks. Among the exhibits, you'll find a life-size, ghostly interpretation of Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper painting, a towering 25-foot high pink woman made of cinder blocks, and a 24-foot high steel prospector accompanied by a penguin.
The collection also features a mesmerizing tangle of gleaming chrome car parts and an exquisitely carved winged woman reaching for the sun. Additional works by contemporary American artists add a modern touch to this unique museum. Goldwell Open Air Museum fulfills its mission through the care and presentation of the sculpture park as well as an artist residency program held at the Red Barn Art Center.
To support this endeavor, the museum receives grants from prestigious organizations such as the Nevada Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of the Amargosa Desert and experience the intriguing world of Goldwell Open Air Museum. Visit the museum's visitor center and gift shop from Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.
