Gonçalo Carvalho is a Portuguese dressage rider and Lusitano horse breeder whose equestrian career grew from a family tradition. Born in Lisbon in 1982, he began riding as a young child and later trained with Master João Pedro Rodrigues. Since joining the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art as a rider in 2001, he has developed his career in classical equitation and high-level competition. His partnership with the Lusitano stallion Rubi AR led him to focus on dressage, and in 2012 he qualified directly for the London Olympic Games, achieving notable results as a Portuguese rider with a Lusitano horse.

Founded in 2009, Coudelaria Gonçalo Carvalho promotes the Lusitano breed through selective breeding, seeking to refine the horses’ conformation and natural movement. Rubi AR is a central sire in the breeding programme. The stud’s horses include Dihor, born in 2008, Dom-Rubi, born in 2008 and later presented in young-horse tests, and Heros, born in 2012. The site also features information about the team, horses, facilities, news, competition calendar, and equestrian services.
