Good Mourning with Marilyn

Good Mourning with Marilyn is the grief-support practice and educational work of Marilyn Willis, a California-licensed professional clinical counselor, author, and educator. Drawing on her own experience of losing her mother as a teenager and more than twenty years of supporting people through grief, Willis helps individuals and communities find a path from loss toward healing and a restored life. Her approach offers practical, step-by-step guidance focused on rebuilding physical functioning, mental clarity, emotional stability, relationships, interests, and a sense of purpose.

The brand provides free support for people coping with loss, along with grief seminars featuring hands-on training, real-life examples, and actionable ways to support survivors. Its resources include the self-paced RESTORED workbook, with illustrations, exercises, and reflection questions, as well as free digital guides, including the Holiday Grief Survival Guide and RESTORED Moments Devotional. Willis also equips others with principles intended to build resilience and help the bereaved move beyond simply surviving toward renewed engagement with life. Her materials are informational and do not establish a therapeutic relationship.
