Stichting Gooimeerzeilen is a sailing school in Huizen, Netherlands, where experienced volunteer skippers help young people and adults discover the enjoyment of sailing. The foundation has offered sailing instruction since 1984, welcoming participants aboard during the sailing season from May through September.
Its standard course consists of six sessions, each lasting about three hours and scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Lessons depart from the harbour in Huizen and take place in Valk and Randmeer boats. Participants are placed in small groups of two or three and sail with the same skipper throughout the course. Friends can request to join the same group.
The school offers courses for adults, young people aged 14 to 18, and more experienced sailors, as well as individual instruction and lessons aboard a participant’s own sailboat. A free introductory sailing lesson is also available. With a focus on practical learning and personal guidance, Stichting Gooimeerzeilen invites newcomers to choose a course that suits their interests and experience.
