Goomalling Gumnuts Early Learning Centre is a small, not-for-profit childcare service that has supported families in the Goomalling community for almost 20 years. Run with the dedication of parent volunteers and support from the Shire and wider community, the centre offers children a warm, inclusive, home-like place to learn and grow. Its experienced educators build caring relationships and support each child’s individuality, confidence and wellbeing.

Gumnuts uses a holistic, play-based approach, combining planned educational experiences with child-led and unstructured play. Its program is shaped by children’s interests, developmental needs, seasonal themes and community events. Activities include creative arts and construction, outdoor and physical play, music and movement, sensory and dramatic play, stories, and early literacy and numeracy. Children also take part in routines that balance learning, social interaction, meals, rest and group activities, with opportunities for excursions, incursions and community visits.

The centre aims to nurture social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development, while fostering curiosity, resilience, independence and a sense of belonging.
