GOPIO Malaysia is a non-sectarian global organization that represents over 30 million People of Indian Origin (PIO) across approximately 100 countries. As one of the founding members of GOPIO International, GOPIO Malaysia is dedicated to the well-being of PIOs through cooperation and communication. With chapters around the world, including countries like the UK, USA, Mauritius, South Africa, and Canada, GOPIO aims to network and connect PIOs globally.

Founded in 1989 at the First Global Convention of People of Indian Origin in New York, GOPIO's initial focus was on creating a global network for the widespread PIO community. Over the years, its priorities have evolved to pool resources, both financial and professional, for the benefit of PIOs and their respective countries.

GOPIO Malaysia actively engages in academic forums, international conventions, and business delegations to foster the socio-economic growth of PIOs. They also facilitate PIO scholarships and recognize entrepreneurial achievements within the community.
