Gorge Wildlife Park is a family-operated wildlife attraction in Cudlee Creek, South Australia. Opened in 1965, it occupies 14 acres of shaded grounds, where visitors can explore paths through one of the country’s largest privately owned collections of Australian and exotic animals, birds and reptiles. The park’s focus is on close-up experiences that bring people and wildlife together.
Visitors can see Australian species including Tasmanian devils, wombats, dingoes and echidnas, and walk among and feed kangaroos and wallabies. The collection also features exotic animals such as American alligators, meerkats, otters and monkeys. Birdlife ranges from fairy wrens to ostriches, with some birds free-flying, including rainbow lorikeets. A reptile house showcases snakes, lizards, frogs and mammals.
Daily koala encounters at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. offer opportunities to learn from keepers, take photographs, and, when conditions allow, hold or pat a koala for an additional fee. Gorge Wildlife Park also offers animal presentations, activities, school visits, memberships and gift cards.
