About Govia
Govia is a UK rail transport joint venture owned by The Go-Ahead Group, which holds a 65% stake, and Keolis, which holds 35%. The partnership brings together two established transport companies and has extensive experience operating complex rail services and delivering significant programmes of change. Govia says it has introduced more new train fleets in the UK than any other operator. It currently runs Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), the UK’s largest rail franchise, and provides around a quarter of all passenger journeys, making it the country’s busiest rail operator.
Through GTR, Govia operates the Thameslink, Southern, Great Northern and Gatwick Express services. Thameslink connects destinations including Bedford, Luton, St Albans, Brighton, Wimbledon, Sutton and Sevenoaks through London. Southern serves London and communities across the South Coast, East and West Sussex, Surrey, and parts of Kent and Hampshire. Great Northern links London with places including Peterborough, King’s Lynn, Cambridge, Hertford North and Welwyn Garden City. Gatwick Express is also part of the group’s rail network.
